Built on the site of the original commercial building in Longmont, Colorado, 233 Main was constructed in 1972 as a Payless Shoe Store. When we acquired the property in 2023, it was operating as a large tattoo shop and was significantly underutilized. After the tenant voluntarily vacated, we repositioned the building into a modern retail space, transforming what had been in-line retail into a vibrant corner location by opening the side wall with a large commercial glass garage door, adding multiple new entrances, creating a south-facing patio, and enhancing ADA accessibility. We then re-tenanted the property with Vintology, a successful vintage book and vinyl shop originating in Fort Collins. In a short time, Vintology has become a Longmont fixture and a community hub where people can buy, sell, and trade books, vinyl, and other vintage items. In an era increasingly dominated by technology and artificial intelligence, 233 Main offers a meaningful place for in-person connection and community engagement.
