The Historic Cameo Theatre
The Cameo Theatre was built in 1939 as Orlando’s first neighborhood theatre and the fifth motion picture house in the greater Orlando area. After only a year of operation, the theatre closed and the building went on to house a range of tenants over the decades, including Central Florida’s IBM headquarters. When we acquired the property in 2013, it had been foreclosed on and left in severe disrepair—boarded up, covered in graffiti, and infested with rodents. Over the following year, we restored both the façade and interior, revitalizing the building and attracting Snap! Orlando, the region’s premier photography gallery, along with a local music management company for the second floor. Today, the Cameo is home to The Nickley Group, one of Florida’s leading real estate firms, continuing the building’s legacy as a creative and community-focused landmark.
